My heart is broken. I just found out that my citrine tower is in fact not citrine but a yellow smeltz quartz. Can someone tell me what makes citrine high quality? Rutilite, tourmaline, phantoms, rainbow? I love inclusion and the clearer the betters but I'm so afraid to buy something that is fake again.

This is the comparison I used. They look identical. So I’m just trying to figure out what is considered high quality citrine. I have Smokey quartz coming in full of phantoms but didn’t know what would be considered rare or high quality for citrine. Deeper color, smokier, clearer….I know what I’m attracted to just don’t want to make the same mistake and get taken advantage of again.
My natural citrine looks almost like Smokey quartz but with a hint of yellow. It has a ton of inclusions and rainbows in it too. This looks too clear and colorless to be citrine.. but that’s just in my opinion 🙃🫶🏻
